Happy Valentine's Day 2010

What we did so far:
* exchanged cards!
* had donuts and coffee! I had sugarless coffee, as Krispy Kreme had only refined sugar, Splenda and Sweet'n'Low. Sure, a Krispy Kreme donut isn't healthful, but it's fun to eat a chocolate/raspberry heart-shaped confection on Valentine's Day.
* went to Scarecrow Video to pick up a trio of excellent kid-watchable films: Satyajit Ray's "Pather Panchali", "The 400 Blows", and "King Kong" (Willis O'Brien, not Peter Jackson). I had to put David Lean's "Oliver Twist" back on the shelf as we had three punches left on our Scarecrow account.
* picked up a "No Solicitors" sign. I resent that we find this purchase necessary. I resent that people are living in their "truths already made up, just listening now for words that push our buttons" tracks and yet feign empathy. I resent being insulted at my front door by socially inept strangers.
* Picked up The Promise of Energy Psychology at a 20% discount, and some Territorial Seeds packets at a 20% discount.
* Made chicken salad spread with garden-grown tarragon. Yum yum!
