The quiet revolution that doesn't reach mass media

Here's a question: is Health Care Reform just a gigantic theatre drama, a pretend effort by government, because neither it, nor employers can team up effectively against pharmaceutical companies and the medical industry to bring costs down? Is that why Senator John McCain is trying to push for restricted access to vitamins, or is he just senile, or is he being paid for by corporate interests?

I want to know how bad it would be for America if people ate whole and natural foods whenever possible, and used credit cards only for travel or emergencies or Internet purchases, and didn't watch television. I think those would be beautiful self-empowering ways of changing things. Give me your nightmare scenarios.

Are movies better with product placement and CGI?
I saw "Panique au Village" with my family a few days ago. This is a beautifully surreal stop-motion animation feature-length film, accessible to all. Why can't the US make films like this?
